Notes

1. As at 31 March 2018, the cumulative Lump Sum Grant Reserve Fund is $248.586 million.
A sum of $0.572 million which is cumulative unspent balance of Central Items for
Permanent/Time-defined Care Assistant (CA) and Programme Assistant (PA) as at
30 November 2014 was also transferred to the Lump Sum Grant Reserve Fund in this year.
  The Reserve Fund will be used to enhance supervision, to improve the remuneration of new staff
with experiences and to absorb the deficit of staff salary.
2. The surplus will be used for designated purpose upon completion of servcie or be clawed back
by the Social Welfare Department.
3. The surplus will be transferred to the Provident Fund Reserve Account. As at 31 March 2018,
the cumulative Provident Fund Reserve Fund is $114.799 million, of which $107.921 million is
the cumulative Provident Fund Reserve Fund for non-snapshot staff (6.8%). The reserve will be
used to strengthen employer voluntary contribution for non-snapshot staff.
4. Apart from receiving Lump Sum Grant Subvention, Caritas Social Work Services units have
expenses such as maintenance fee and administrative support that are not recognized by the
government. These un-subvented items are funded by Caritas fund. In the year of 2017/18,
Caritas - Hong Kong has allocated a total of $19.334 million to support the un-subvented items
of these units.
