Four staff, namely Mr. Leung Tsz Fung, Ms. Ngan Yuk Ying, Ms. Chan Sau Yee and Mr. Lo Yan Hoi received the Outstanding Employee Award under the 3rd Elderly Service Outstanding Employee Award, to acknowledge their devotion and commitment in provision of professional caring services to elders in need and a role model for their fellow workers.

Recently the gambling problem of the retired and elderly is on the rise. The social worker of Caritas Addicted Gamblers Counselling Centre introduces the symptoms, the causes and the handling of gambling addiction in the episodes below.

Caritas Family Month in October 2017 is a response to the pastoral work of the Diocese this year: “Care for marriage, family and life; Study and live out ‘The Joy of Love’ (Post-Synodal Apostolic Exhortation)”.  A booklet is published to encourage parishioners to participate in our programmes and volunteer service, as well as to promote our services to the parishioners and the public.

Ms. Cheng Chui-ying, member of Caritas Elderly Centre – Shatin, was awarded the Outstanding Third Age Citizen of the 5th Outstanding Third Age Citizens organized by the HK Electric and the Hong Kong Council of Social Service.  Ms. Cheng is committed in promoting the soft ball (Rouliqiu) among the elders to enhance physical health.  Apart from setting up the Shatin Elderly Rouliqiu Club, she also teaches Rouliqiu classes at various districts.
